H3CZ Officially Reacquires OpTic Gaming, Chicago Huntsman to Rebrand into Chicago OpTic

Hector “H3CZ” Rodriguez has officially reacquired the OpTic Gaming brand! Call of Duty League just keeps getting better and better. This, paired with the fact that Matthew “Nadeshot” Hague is re-entering the scene makes this an insanely exciting week for CDL fans.

Heck, maybe that’s even an understatement.

This is what fans have been hoping for. We’ve heard many rumors over the last couple of weeks and months, but there were no guarantees. Now, however, things are finally official. Naturally, with H3CZ reacquiring the “green wall,” fans have started celebrating and with good reason. This means that the Chicago Huntsman will now rebrand and compete under the Chicago Optic banner come next year!

Aside from FaZe, OpTic is as big of a brand as they come. Heck, they’re synonymous with first-person shooters, and having the OG “green wall” back in action (with the guy who made it famous) is one of the most exciting developments of the off-season.

Not having H3CZ at the helm definitely felt strange, but at least the correct timeline has been restored (to the elation of many). 

Call of Duty League | Chicago OpTic Line-up

At the time of this writing, Brandon “Dashy” Otell, Dylan “Envoy” Hannon, Matthew “FormaL” Piper, and Seth “Scump” Abner are all signed with the team. Whether we’ll see further changes to this line-up is anyone’s guess at this point. Regardless, they’re quite a dangerous group even without any subsequent changes. It’ll be interesting to see how the switch to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will affect all competing teams, including the newly minted Chicago Optic.

In any case, seeing the return of H3CZ and his brainchild will make 2021 endlessly more entertaining. We can’t wait to see the “green wall” back in action, and with Nadeshot entering the scene as well, fans will have no shortage of exquisite narratives and mind-blowing storylines come 2021!
