Félix “xQc” Lengyel has teased fans with news regarding a possible upcoming Among Us event. The social deduction game from InnerSloth has become one of the most popular titles on Twitch since its release in June 2018, with xQc letting gamers know that they should expect a significant increase in content in this area, thanks in part to an event that will take place in the near future.

The streamer, who has some 3.5 million followers on Twitch failed to divulge any great detail surrounding the event, however this has not stopped fans from speculating about its format and start date. Speaking on his Twitch channel, the 24-year-old Canadian streamer said: “I don’t want to spoil it, but there is an Among Us event coming up soon and its gonna have really, really Pog content. “It’s for people who are really, really PogU streamers, but I can’t say what it is yet.”

How xQc Has Helped Among Us to Grow

xQc himself has played a major role in helping Among Us grow, with Lengyel having been the most high profile streamer to play the game on a regular basis, even completing eight-hour sessions in some cases. Among Us has developed a good reputation within the world of Esports for its ability to bring together different streaming personalities, regardless of their level of skill or style of play. Having xQc regularly advocate the game has undoubtedly helped too, with Among Us now being the second most watched title on Twitch.

While many enjoyed Among Us upon its release two years ago, few would have predicted just how big it would become. Just two months ago, the game had a total Twitch viewership of just 174 viewers per month, showing just how quickly it has grown. However, it remains to be seen as to whether such growth is sustainable, although upcoming events, such as the one teased by xQc, should certainly help its cause.

What is Among Us?

The indie game has received over 18 million mobile downloads in August, some 8x more when compared to figures from the previous month. Meanwhile, over 40 million downloads so far in September demonstrate its meteoric growth, while it is also one of the most popular titles on Steam at present. For those unaware, Among Us involves 4-10 players, who take on the role of a spaceship crew preparing for departure. It is imposters who are tasked with sabotaging the ship, killing and framing crew members in the process.
