Wolves Esports has announced that they will compete in the Rocket League Champion Series Season X, becoming the first Premier League team to do so in the process. Wolves are developing a growing reputation within the industry, already competing in PUBG, Identity V and FIFA.

Rocket League was launched in 2015 and has recently received major interest from Esports organizations, especially since it turned free to play earlier this year. Wolves are the latest team to enter the scene, with the Rocket League Championship Series being the leading event. Wolves Esports are set to make their debut at the RLCS X Winter Split.

Who Will Represent the Wolves Esports Rocket League Team?

Rix Ronday, the new Wolves team captain, has joined from Libertas, while Luis Puente Pena and Ole Van Doorn have arrived from Edelweiss Esports and Barrage Esports respectively. Wolves general manager for marketing and commercial, Russell Jones, spoke on the announcement of the team, stating: “We are thrilled to announce the launch of a Wolves esports Rocket League team. Millions of people around the world are playing Rocket League and, given its similarities to football, it felt like the perfect next step into esports.

“Gaming and esports remain a crucial part of our brand growth strategy and signing such talented and ambitious players to represent our Rocket League esports team is another step forward in our journey to build stories outside of football and widen the appeal of the Wolves brand across the world.

“We have spent the last six months scouting teams and players and are delighted to welcome Rix, Luis and Ole, who will become Wolves Esports for the remainder of the current RLCS season X and beyond. We will be offering the team our full support as they compete in the winter split.”

Why Captain Ronday Was Attracted to Wolves

Meanwhile, captain Ronday could not hide his excitement at having signed for Wolves Esports, stating: “It is a real honour to captain the first ever Wolves Esports Rocket League team. I’m confident that we have recruited two of Rocket League’s most exciting talents in Ole and Luis and we are working hard behind the scenes to prepare for the RLCSX winter split kick off. Rocket League is a really fast paced game with many similarities to football, so we hope Wolves fans will enjoy tuning in to watch the action.”

We will not have to wait to see Wolves Esports in action, with the RLCS X Winter Split set to get underway on November 12. In what is Europe’s first Winter Split regional events, fans can follow their matches on the rocket League Twitch and YouTube channels.
