The 2nd and final Dota 2 Major of DPC 2021 is over. Its winner is once again a Chinese team. And the runner-up is Evil Geniuses. It seems that Arteezy really has been cursed to never win something big again. But that aside, PSG.LGD played amazingly from start to finish. Ame and his crew won the Group Stage with a record of 4 wins – 3 draws – 0 losses and then went on to win 4 matches in a row to claim the title.

WePlay AniMajor Results

WePlay AniMajor offered 2700 Pro Circuit points and a prize pool of $500,000. The tournament’s results were the following:

  • 1st place: PSG.LGD
  • 2nd place: Evil Geniuses
  • 3rd place: T1
  • 4th place: Vici Gaming
  • 5th – 6th place: Quincy Crew
  • 5th – 6th place: Team Nigma
  • 7th – 8th place: Team Spirit
  • 7th – 8th place: TNC Predator

I won’t list the remaining 10 teams because they didn’t finish in the points. But huge names were among them: Secret, Virtus.pro, Aster, iG, Liquid, and more.

By far, the biggest surprise at WePlay AniMajor was T1. The SEA team came close to winning both PSG.LGD (1 – 2) as well as Evil Geniuses (1 – 2). Given that there are two months left until The International 10, if they continue to train hard and make progress I think they will obtain a spectacular result. And if they win, it’s going to be a historic moment for esports. Because no Dota 2 or League of Legends organization has ever won the League of Legends World Championship and The International. In fact, the overlap is quite small. Most Dota 2 orgs have nothing to do with LoL and most LoL orgs have nothing to do with Dota.

The 12 Teams That Got Invited to TI 10

Now that the regular season is finally over, we know for certain who finished in the top 12 and secured a direct invite to The International.

  • Evil Geniuses
  • LGD
  • pro
  • Quincy Crew
  • Invictus Gaming
  • T1
  • Vici Gaming
  • Team Secret
  • Team Aster
  • Alliance
  • beastcoast
  • Thunder Predator

As you can see, 4 Chinese teams are already qualified and they’ll be joined by a 5th. As for Europe, this year it will have fewer participants.
