Vikin.gg Wins EPIC League Season 3 Division 1

Vikin.gg was one of the most impressive up and coming teams of 2020, rising from relative obscurity and becoming a top 8 competitor in Europe. Unfortunately for them, DreamLeague Season 14 DPC EU Upper Division ended poorly and their 7^th place means that they will be relegated to the Lower Division. However, at the recent EPIC League Season 3 Division 1, Vikin.gg claimed the title after a spectacular Grand Final against Team Spirit.

EPIC League Season 3 Division 1 Results

EPIC League Season 3 Division 1 did not have a Group Stage. The 8 participants started in the Playoffs Stage, which used the usual double-elimination format. Vikin.gg’s path was a rough one. In their first match, they had to beat HellRaisers. The dispute ended with a score of 2 – 1. Keep in mind that this is one the HellRaisers team from 2020. This is a new lineup with superstars like Lil and Resolut1on.

In the second match of the tournament, Vikin.gg encountered Brame, a team made up of some of the former members of mousesports and Ad Finem. Once again, the score was 2 – 1.

Then came the Upper Bracket Final against Team Spirit. This match proved to be a real challenge and Vikin.gg eventually lost after two hard-fought games. Spirit used a deadly combo in both of them: Lion + Mars. And they completely destroyed Vikin.gg’s Alchemist strategy, which they used in game 1 as well as game 2.

In the Lower Bracket Final, Vikin.gg was lucky enough to avoid Tundra Esports. FATA’s team lost to High Coast Esports in the Lower Bracket Round 3. So it was relatively easy for KheZu and his crew to win again (2 – 1) and qualify for the Grand Final.

In the final match of EPIC League Season 3 Division 1, Vikin.gg had to defeat their nemesis, Team Spirit. And they actually lost the first game. But in the next 3 games they shifted gears and simply ran over Spirit with heroes like Lycan, Viper, and Phantom Assassin.
