VALORANT – T1 Adds Thwifo to VALORANT Roster

T1 have announced the arrival of Zander “thwifo” Kim, with the former Fortnite pro having joined the organization’s VALORANT roster. The teenager had been with XSET since July 2020. However, having been inactive for the team since July 1 this year, the American was on the lookout for a new team.

Despite missing the entirety of the VALORANT Champions Tour with XSET, T1 has obviously seen something in the American, having added him to their five-man roster. T1 has struggled to make an impact in the VALORANT scene to date, having failed to win any key events. However, they have appeared in the early stages of the VCT, including VCT Stage 3 Challengers 2.

Why Brax is No Longer Part of T1’s VALORANT Lineup

T1 were eliminated by FaZe in the lower bracket, with the org currently preparing for round two. With thwifo on board, they will be hoping to make an impression at upcoming VALORANT tournaments. The American’s arrival at T1 comes in the midst of Braxton “Brax” Pierce’s decision to leave the org.

Brax recently stepped aside from the professional VALORANT scene in order to focus upon streaming on a full-time basis. The veteran made no secret of the fact that the professional scene had drained him over recent times, with the former CS:GO favorite to remain with T1 in a content creator role.

When Will We See T1 in Action Next?

As a result, it is now the start of what fans will hope is a successful era for T1. The org has made a host of roster changes, with none having really paid off as of yet. With the final VALORANT Champions Tour event of the year taking place in December, it was seen as the ideal time to bring in a new player. With VALORANT Champions 2021 set to round off the year-long event, it remains to be seen as to what is next for the scene.

Riot Games somewhat experimented with the VALORANT Champions Tour initially, with the event having been a success, despite some challenging moments. It remains to be seen as to what the organizers have up their sleeve for next year. Some have speculated that a series of smaller events would take place, rather than one big tournament. Either way, T1 will be hoping that they are prepared for anything with their new roster.

Thwifo will team up with Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham, Anthony “dawn” Hagopian, Timothy “autimatic” Ta and in-game leader Rahul “curry” Nemani at T1.
