Aleksandar “aleksandar” Hinojosa has announced that he is a free agent, with the American VALORANT pro having left Evil Geniuses at the end of June. The 20-year-old broke the news on Twitter, posting that “as of today I am a non-restricted free agent”. Having also competed under the banner of the Built By Gamers Academy and Moon Raccoons, aleksandar will now be looking for a new team.

Having the ability to play as an interior, duelist and controller, it is likely that aleksandar will find a new team relatively quickly. Aleksandar joined Evil Geniuses back in January, the same time in which the leading Esports organization entered the VALORANT scene. Aleksandar was arguably the best signing for the team, however Evil Geniuses has largely struggled to make an impact in the North American region.

Why aleksandar was released by Evil Geniuses

Such struggles ultimately led to the departures of aleksandar, Ronan “Osias” Javelona and Claudia “Clawdia” Che, with Mike “Pho” Panza, Brandon “Branted” Ballard and Daniel “roca” Gustaferri having been brought in ahead of the NA VALORANT Champions Tour Stage Three: Challengers One Open Qualifier.

The departure of aleksandar will come as a surprise to many, especially given the fact that the American’s statistics are quite impressive. The 20-year-old ended his spell with Evil Geniuses with an average K/D ratio of 1.29, as well as a 178.4 ADR with Raze over recent months.

What does the future hold for aleksandar?

With aleksandar now being available as a free agent, a host of organizations will likely be interested in acquiring him. No buyout will be needed, with aleksandar expected to trial with teams once the VCT Stage Three: Challengers One has finished. The likes of TSM, T1 and Gen.G have been talked about, given the fact that they have so far failed to secure a place in the Challengers Playoffs, with just one opportunity remaining.
Speaking on his future, aleksandar stated that: “i greatly appreciate the opportunity at @evilgeniuses. as of today i am a non-restricted free agent. i am looking to play initiator, controller or duelist. DM me or @carterpulse for inquiries. rt’s appreciated :~)”
