The VALORANT Champions Tour 2021: EMEA Last Chance Qualifier commences on October 10. Eight teams will compete in a best-of-three double-elimination bracket, with the exception of the grand finals which will be a best-of-five.

This tournament will be the last chance for European, Middle Eastern, and African teams to qualify for the culminating Valorant Champions 2021 in December this year. The LCQ will be an exclusively online event.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the games.

Competing Teams

Turkish teams Futbolist, SuperMassive Blaze, and Oxygen Esports comprise the majority of the competing teams. Most notable is SMB who looks to wage a campaign over its European and CIS neighbors to cement its stakes in this year’s championship.

The rest of the teams are comprised of G2 Esports, Guild Esports, Anubis Gaming, One Breath Gaming, and Team Liquid.

G2, who had an excellent 4th place run in Berlin, is also looking to claim its place in the December tournament. Team Liquid, on the other hand, is looking to avenge its Berlin snub after losing the previous qualifier versus the would-be Master’s champions, Gambit Esports.

Anubis Gaming, Egypt’s representative, is coming hot from winning the Strike Arabia Grand Finals. VALORANT Champions 2021 will be their chance to prove their mettle on the international stage.

Lastly, Guild Esports and its Swedish squad could be the dark horse of this tournament. They are seeking to upgrade their consistent fourth-place streak in previous tournament qualifiers to a first-place finish.

CIS will not have a representative in the event due to roster shuffles between forZe and One Breath Gaming. The Russian team has waived their chances to join the qualifiers with the transfer of three of their players to One Breath Gaming, who consequently took the empty slot.

Schedule

  • G2 Esports vs Anubis Gaming (October 10, 23:00 UTC+8)
  • Futbolist vs Oxygen Esports  (October 11, 1:00 UTC+8)
  • SuperMassiveBlaze vs Guild Esports (October 11, 23:00 UTC+8)
  • Team Liquid vs One Breath Gaming  (October 12, 01:00 UTC+8)

Other Teams Have Already Qualified for VALORANT Champions 2021

Other notable EMEA teams have already qualified for VC 2021. Gambit’s win in Berlin booked them a sure slot in VC 2021. They are followed by Acend, who garnered enough circuit points in the region to also secure a slot. Fnatic also had a stroke of luck when Gambit Esports won the recent Masters— this virtually secured them second place in the region, and consequently their slot for VC 2021 as well.

EMEA teams that have not garnered enough VCT 2021 circuit points by this tournament’s conclusion can no longer qualify. They will have to wait and try again in next year’s season.
