According to reports this week, TSM Esports are looking to create a six-man VALORANT roster, with Braxton “brax” Pierce being at the top of their wish list. Reports surfaced following many within the VALORANT community noticing that TSM’s James “Hazed “Cobb had not been taking part in training, despite still being an active member of their lineup.

TSM streamer Myth has shown that Hazed has been missing from scrims on two separate occasions. In response to Myth stating that this was “just because his back is broke”, Hazed responded with the eyes emoji, prompting yet further speculation.

Brax was released by T1, alongside Keven “AZK” Lariviere, back in February, having joined the organization following his retirement from CS:GO in March 2020. T1 ultimately signed Rahul “curry” Nemani as a result, with brax having remained without a team. TSM already has a roster packed full of talent, however the team has so far been unable to transfer this into results.

Why TSM Are Looking to Make Further Roster Changes

Despite winning the Pittsburgh Knights Invitational Gauntlet Series, TSM followed up a runner-up finish at the First Strike North America with an early exit in the Champions Tour event, where they lost to 100 Thieves. Brax is known for his ability as a fragger, something in which TSM could well benefit from should the American arrive.

TSM would also become the latest team to take advantage of a six-man roster, with Vitality having perhaps been the most successful using this strategy. Speaking on the use of an extended roster, CS:GO professional, Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen stated that it “pressures everyone into performing better.”

Would brax Make the Move to TSM?

TSM would hope that the extra flexibility would be both an advantage to them and a disadvantage to opponents, however it remains to be seen as to whethe brax would even be willing to open talks with the organization. Having become T1’s first ever VALORANT player, things have perhaps not quite worked out as expected for the 24-year-old.
