It’s been more than 18 months since the start of this global pandemic and the Dota 2 community has not been skipped by it. Initially, it was forced to move almost all of its tournaments online. Now we’ve lost one of the most famous casters in the SEA region. Aldrin “Dunoo” Pangan, best-known for his “Lakad Matatag” moment which was included in Dota 2 and spammed by everyone at The International a few years ago, has died of Covid-19 complications.

The sad incident was reported by multiple teams and esports personalities, including TNC, Secret, Wykrhm Reddy, and LD. Everyone is quite shocked by it, especially given the caster’s young age. A lot of people can probably still remember how everyone felt after the tragic accident that caused the death of Kobe Bryant. The same feeling looms in the air right now, except it affects a much smaller community. You don’t want to believe such things can happen, but unfortunately, they do.

It would be nice if Valve immortalized the memory of Aldrin by permanently adding the “Lakad Matatag” line to their game.
