Without much surprise, mousesports players are leading the charge. Robin “ropz” Kool and David “frozen” Čerňanský were frontrunners for their team. A few unexpected players have made it to the top of the standings as well.

With a 1.35 rating and a stunning 1.46 KD, frozen was the star of the tournament. He outgunned every single competitor at this event. He received major support from ropz, who himself mounted a 1.30 rating. The Estonian was particularly strong in pistol rounds, where he delivered an average KD of 2.40 overall. After such a performance, it’s no surprise that mousesports won a whopping 68% of their pistol rounds, leading this stats category for Flashpoint. The team’s new IGL, Chris “dexter” Nong, managed to make up for his weaker performances in earlier events. His 1.18 rating here has propelled him past established players like Nicolai “device” Reedtz.

flashpoint players

Even though Nikola “NiKo” Kovač put up an amazing performance and definitely announced his return to form, this leaderboard is bad news for G2 Esports. Their success depends entirely on one single individual. Them reaching third place was down to NiKo alone. No other player is remotely able to compensate for his absense. So if NiKo isn’t one of the best players at the events to come, G2 will likely fail to make it as far again.

VITALITY ARE NOTHING WITHOUT ZYWOO

Vitality have the same issue – only much, much worse. Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut once again had a great showing, but the next best Vitality player was sitting on top of a 1.01 rating with a 0.95 KDR – far removed from the Top 20. After the BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown had proven that the best player of 2020 can crumble as well, this is a major warning sign for the Frenchmen. Jayson “Kyojin” Nguyen Van also recorded negative figures for this tournament. So the future is looking quite grim for Vitality.

WHAT IS KYAERBYE DOING THIS FAR UP?

The Dane deserves a special commendation for his performance at Flashpoint. When he played for FaZe Clan, he didn’t really make a name for himself as a strong contender. His new team blew out of the tournament right away, but nonetheless the player has maintained a 1.22 rating throughout. This is obviously a great sign for his individual journey. Either HYENAS will continue to grow under his leadership, or he will step up his personal game so much that other top teams will take notice again – but that can obviously only happen if he retains this level against this kind of opposition.

Considering that FPX only made ninth place, the trio of Asger “farlig” Jensen, Jesse “zehN” Linjala, and Pavle “maden” Bošković has performed over the top. In terms of opening kills, maden has also impressed us, even though Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen is leading that stats category. Most surprising is that the HYENAS youngster Frederik “Fessor” Sørensen has secured a 1.26 opening rating as well.

flashpoint players flashes

Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz continues in the footsteps of Fatih “gob b” Dayik as a phenomenal support player and shotcaller. The German player threw more than one flash per round and was successful with 85% of his throws. Ismail “refrezh” Ali was the only one to top this, blinding opponents with 9 out of 10 flashes.

Even though stats and ratings rarely ever paint the full picture, they reveal some major problems for a lot of the teams in attendance. Even when ZywOo performs well, Vitality can barely keep themselves in the game. G2 Esports need NiKo in order to retain their high placements. On the other hand, teams like mousesports or Heroic have a lot more teamwork and shared performances. This trait is what may help them stay at the top while others start their descent again.
