Leading North American Esports organization Team Liquid has announced a partnership with well-known trading firm IMC. The deal will span multiple years, with the partnership having been developed in an attempt to engage with fans and support the community.

Details of the deal show that IMC will be the supporting partner of Liquid Hacks, an event that was established in order to members gain an understanding of and help overcome industry issues. As well as this, the press release upon the announcement stated that IMC would also send industry experts to events. Donations to the events prize pool will also be made.

What Team Liquid Has Said on the Announcement

Speaking on the deal, Team Liquid founder and CEO, Victor Goosens, stated that: “At Team Liquid, we look to align with partners that not only share similar values and a love for competitive gaming, but also challenge us to think differently about how we approach things. We’ll work closely with IMC, both here in The Netherlands, and globally, to elevate several priority programs across fan engagement, community relations and events production. I’m personally excited for our ongoing TSL series, which they’ll help us bring to life this summer.”

How Will Liquid Benefit from the Partnership?

IMC will also have an active involvement in the Team Liquid StarLeague, one of the biggest Starcraft tournaments in the world today. Here, the trading firm will contribute segments, features and awards. It is also understood that in return for such actions, Team Liquid will work on Room to Read, a philanthropic platform established by IMC. They will do so through streaming events, integrating talent and offering financial aid.

IMC branding will also now be visible on all Team Liquid jerseys, with the organization currently competing in some 17 different Esports titles. IMC CEO, Rob Defares, has also had his say, stating that: “We are excited about the launch of our partnership with Team Liquid. It’s great to find an organisation that shares many of our closely-held values of creativity, teamwork, ambition, innovation and competitive drive, and we are very much looking forward to working with them to attract and foster new talent for our high performing teams.”

Despite having announced several partnerships in the past, this is Liquid’s first with a leading financial company. IMC will sit alongside the likes of Twitch, Bud Light and Alienware as partners.
