Despite the team’s players being on summer break, Team Liquid have announced that Jason “Moses” O’Toole will be their new Counter Strike: Global Offensive Head Coach, with the American taking over from Eric “adreN” Hoag in the process.

The hiring of Moses as Head Coach means that Team Liquid will have a different look to them when they return to action, with the organisation having announced recently that veteran rifler Nicholas “Nitr0” Cannella would be replaced by 19-year-old Michael “Grim Wince”. Wince previously represented the likes of Triumph and Bad News Bears, helping the former in winning the ESEA Season 33: Premier Division – North America Finals of late.

What Will Moses Bring to Team Liquid?

Former professional player Jason “Moses” O’Toole has acted as a broadcaster and analyst since he retired, with his playing days having seen him represent organisations such as Team Dynamic, Denial Esports, United5 and eLevate. However, he has most recently been more involved in the broadcasting side of Esports, acting as a commentator for many leading events, with his role with Team Liquid being his first foray into coaching.

Team Liquid have developed a reputation over recent times as being one of North America’s most successful Counter Strike: Global Offensive teams, while their rivalry with Danish organisation Astralis has long been a major talking point. However, their recent performances, which have taken place online due to the Covid-19 pandemic, have shown that they are far from the finished article, meaning that Moses has plenty of work to do.

What Does the Future Hold for Team Liquid Under Moses?

He will be tasked with getting the best out of the current Team Liquid active roster, which is made up by Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski, Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, Keith “NAF” Markovic and Jacky “Stewie2K” Yip. Team Liquid were knocked out at the first hurdle at the StarLadder Berlin Major Playoffs earlier this year, while they have struggled to win tournaments on the biggest stage for an extended period now.

They are now one of a number of teams battling it out behind Evil Geniuses, who are without a shadow of a doubt the top team in North America today. Team Liquid will be hoping that their recent changes pay off, having gone down a different route to that of rivals Astralis, who recommitted to its long-term roster instead.
