The T1 Dota 2 roster is now complete, with the South Korean organization having signed Karl “Karl” Jayme. The 22-year-old has most recently been playing for 032, however he made his name with Geek Fam. The mid laner is undoubtedly a solid addition to the T1 lineup, with Karl having spent almost all of 2020 in helping Geek Fam in becoming one of the top teams in Southeast Asia.

Why T1 Made Their Move for Karl

T1 moved quickly to acquire Karl following Geek Fam’s decision to releasee its entire roster back in September, due to the uncertainty surrounding the Dota Pro Circuit. While Geek Fam had initially left the door open for Karl to return, alongside Carlo “Kuku” Palad, Kenny “Xepher” Deo and Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon, however the latest news makes it clear that this will not be happening.

Karl enjoyed a brief spell with 032, also known as Zerothreetwo, where he played alongside Michael “ninjaboogie” Ross Jr, however he decided to part company with the team in order to sign for T1. T1 only created its Dota roster in August 2019, however despite many roster changes, the team has been unable to achieve any success to date. Lee “Forev” Sang-don left in July, having been one of the founding players, however the arrival of Galvin “Meracle” Kang Jian Wen did little to improve results.

Will Karl’s Arrival Benefit T1?

Filipino Karl had joined Geek Fam in December, making them one of the biggest forces in the SEA, with T1 undoubtedly hoping that his consistency will be a major asset for them too. Karl will team up with former TNC Predator coach Park “March” Tae-won, with T1 bidding to improve their standing in the region, with online events set to continue for the remainder of the year.

Karl’s Dota career started back in 2015, when he played for Pacific Revborn, having also represented s1 Lykos, Young Minds, TaskUs Titans, Execration and Team Amplify since then.
