T1 Release “crashies” & “food” from Valorant Team

In a move that has shocked many within the Valorant scene, T1 Esports has announced that they have released both Austin “crashies” Roberts and Victor “food” Wong from their North American roster.

The news came out of the blue for many fans of the South Korean organisation, however it is the latest in a long line of roster changes that have occurred of late, with Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham having recently been benched for the Pop Flash Invitational, where T1 failed to reach the playoffs after losing their two group matches.

Why T1 Has chosen to Release the Promising Duo

Skadoodle took his benching well judging by his social media posts, with the departure of both crashies and food meaning that he could well return to the roster sooner rather than later. The T1 Esports Valorant roster is currently made up by Braxton “Brax” Pierce, Keven “AZK” Lariviere and Daniel “eeiu” Vucenovic, with the latter having joined from the team’s academy.

After finishing in a respectable second place at the T1 X NRG Showdown at the end of June, T1’s performances have dropped significantly, with a 5th-8th finish at the PAX Arena Invitational being followed by a 7-8th finish at the FaZe Clan Invitational and a 9th-12th finish at the Pittsburgh Knights Invitational Gauntlet Series.

T1 Has Struggled for Form Over Recent Times

TSM and Sentinels have dominated the Valorant scene in North America, with T1 hoping to become more competitive by making changes to their roster. A break from competitive action for the next few weeks is the perfect opportunity for teams to do some fine tuning, with T1 not being the only organisation to adjust their roster. Nick “Nitr0” Cannella joined 100Thieves, who have dropped almost their entire roster in doing so.

The former CS:GO pro is the latest to make the switch to Valorant, with Josh “Steel” Nissan having joined Prodigy, the agency which has helped many players make such a move. Oscar “mixwell” Cañellas Colocho and Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom have also joined Valorant, with T1 believed to be eying a move for Steel.
