South Korean Esports organization T1 has announced a multi-year partnership with Red Bull, a deal which will span all of its rosters. The deal will see T1 gain access to Red Bull’s famous performance infrastructure, which will benefit its League of Legends, Super Smash Bros, PUBG Mobile, Fortnite and newly formed VALORANT teams.

The Red Bull performance infrastructure includes Athlete Performance Centers in both Austria and Santa Monica, where world class athletes such as Formula One’s Max Verstappen, mountain biker Fabio Wibmer and skateboarder Leticia Bufoni already train.

Why Red Bull Has Teamed Up with T1

T1 is the only Esports organization to have won the League of Legends World Championship on more than one occasion, with their status within the scene having undoubtedly been a major factor behind the deal with Red Bull. T1 mid-laner Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok has had his say on the new partnership, stating: “As a pro gamer, I drink energy drinks during practice and before games. All of us at T1 are excited to enjoy our new partnership with Red Bull.”

The organization has recently announced the arrivals of Yang “Daeny” Dae-in and Lee “Zefa” Jae-min, the former coaches of DAWMON Gaming, the 2020 world champions. Meanwhile, the T1 VALORANT lineup finished 3rd-4th at the First Strike North America – UMG Tournament qualifying event. T1 also have Leonardo “MkLeo” Lopez on their books, the leading Super Smash Bros. Ultimate player in the world today.

What the Deal Means for T1

Red Bull themselves were already a major name in the world of Esports, having hosted hundreds of annual tournaments surrounding different games. Red Bull is the sponsor of the League of Legends European Championship (LEC), as well as G2 Esports, Cloud9 and Vodafone Giants. Meanwhile, they have also partnered with a host of leading personalities, including popular streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins.

The partnership with T1 will see the Esports organization take part in a host of Red Bull hosted tournaments too. T1 Entertainment & Sports was launched last year following a partnership between SK Telecom and Comcast Spectacor.
