England international’s Harry Maguire and Dominic Calvert-Lewin look set to become the latest soccer stars to enter the Esports scene. The duo are believed to be in discussions with new UK organization, Semper Fortis Esports, with ambassadorial roles believed to be in the pipeline.

Should the expected deal go through, both Maguire and Calvert-Lewin would promote Fortis Esports through their social media pages. With Maguire being the captain of Manchester United and a regular for England, while Calvert-Lewin is one of the Premier League’s top strikers, it could well be a major deal for the new organization.

What Semper Fortis Esports Has Achieved to Date

Semper Fortis Esports went public back in April, doing so on the Aquis Stock Exchange. The org raised over £2.5 million in the process, with shares costing £0.01. Fortis will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Guild Esports, who launched in June last year with the backing of co-owner David Beckham. Guild listed on the London Stock Exchange in October 2020.

Atari founder Nolan Bushnell is part of the new Esports organization, with their Esports teams competing under the banner “Top Blokes”. Speaking on their plans for the future, Semper Fortis stated that they are working on “establishing esports teams, forming brand and technology partnerships, and providing business to business advisory services.”

How Much Will the Org Invest?

In achieving such goals, the org will invest £1.13 million in its first year. This figure includes £320,000 on director salaries, £285,00 on operational costs, £220,000 on marketing, as well as £130,000 on professional fees. Semper Fortis Esports has confirmed that they are in talks with potential celebrity ambassadors, with further announcements expected in the coming weeks.

The org signed European team Top Blokes, who currently compete in the Psyonix Rocket League. Rather than competing as Semper Fortis, the team will continue with the Top Blokes name. CEO Kevin Soltani recently hosted a live presentation of the new Esports organization, that received positive feedback from many. On the Semper Fortis Esports page, the org is described as a “multi-operational Esports organization focusing on gaming technology solutions, brand enhancement and high growth partnerships.”
