SlasheR, Kuavo & Drazah Re-Sign for OpTic Gaming

In what is the latest in a long line of changes in the world of Call of Duty, OpTic Gaming has announced that SlasheR, Kuavo and Drazah have re-signed for the team ahead of the 2021 season. The Los Angeles based team released Dashy, Chino, Goonjar and Hollow previously, with TJHaLy having been the only player who’s future is still seemingly up in the air.

Why OpTic Chose to Re-Sign the Trio

OpTic Gaming finished in a disappointing 9th place in the regular season, however they certainly made up for things at the CDL Playoffs, where they came out on top against the likes of the LA Guerrillas, Minnesota RØKKR and Florida Mutineers, in an event that was worth a significant $4.6 million. While the win against the Guerrillas was perhaps expected due to the major roster overhaul of their opponents, successes against RØKKR and the Mutineers showed the OGLA could well be a force to be reckoned with once again.

The team eventually came unstuck against the Chicago Huntsmen, in what was one of the matches of the entire season, meaning that they ultimately had to settle for a top 6 finish. Huntsmen went on to finish third following their narrow victory over OpTic. Fans of the team have questioned whether things could have been different if the Home Series had not gone online as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, however things are potentially on the up for OGLA.

Is this the End of the Roster Changes for OGLA?

21-year-old Thomas “TJHaLy” Haly looks likely to be part of the roster going forward, despite not featuring in the recent re-signings list. The organisation did confirm that Austin “SlasheR” Liddicoat, Kenny “Kuavo” Williams and Zack “Drazah” Jordan would remain, while speculation is mounting regarding additional arrivals.

Former Chicago Huntsmen and Team Envy player Peirce “Gunless” Hillman is reportedly a target for the OpTic roster, however this would almost certainly see Drazah start the CDL season on the sidelines, especially if TJHaLy does indeed remain with the team. With the CDL free agency officially kicking off on September 14, we could well see many more moves in this area.
