Thomas “Tho”, Binkhorst, Jos “ViolentPanda” van Meurs and Ole “Oaly” van Doorn have created a new all-Dutch Rocket League roster, with news of the new team having broken on Monday. The team was formed after Tho officially parted ways with Guild Esports, with the trio having already competed together during the offseason.

Meanwhile, 2x Rocket League Championship Series World Champion ViolentPanda joined the team after spending over three years with Dignitas. The 22-year-old made his name as one of the best Rocket League pros in Europe during his time there, with ViolentPanda having broken the news by posting the following message on Twitter:

“Anouncing our roster for RLCS XI, @ViolentPandaRL, @ThO_RL, @OalyRL Coach: @Virge. We will be looking for an org to represent, DM if interested.” The Dutchman followed up this message with another post, which wrote: “We are also looking for a sub, so DM me if you’re interested for filling the spot.”

What the future holds for The Flying Dutchman

While the team, which will be known as The Flying Dutchman, is still searching for an organization to compete under the banner of, English pro Joshua “Revezy” Wright has joined them as a substitute, having previously played for the likes of Devils and Thrashers. A number of players will have been keen on playing for alongside a legend such as ViolentPanda, who has a reputation for helping to develop up and coming talent.

Both Tho and Oaly are well-known players in their own right, however they will be hoping to achieve great things after teaming up with ViolentPanda. Oaly made his RLCS debut last season, having already made a name as one of the best Dutch players around. Meanwhile, Tho made his debut two years ago, with the duo having recorded a runner-up finish at the Intel World Open, alongside Mike “MikeBoy” Verkuijlen. At the event, they were only beaten by France, one of the best teams in the world today.

Will The Flying Dutchman make an immediate impact?

American Virge will be in charge of coaching the team, who worked with ViolentPanda at Dignitas. Oaly joined the team after last representing Wolves Esports, having been offered the opportunity to be the main man at the English football club. The Flying Dutchman could well make a major impact in the European Rocket League scene, as well as potentially qualifying for a place at the Worlds.

We are thrilled to see how their matches will turn out!
