PUBG – TSM releases entire PUBG Mobile roster

TSM announced on Thursday that it had parted company with its PUBG Mobile roster in India. The news was broken on Instagram, sparking speculation that the leading Esports organization is eyeing up another roster in the country. As a result of the decision, Abhijeet “Ghatak” Andhare, Suraj “Neyoo” Majumdar, Jonathan Amaral, Abhishek “ZGOD” Choudhary, and Vivek “ClutchGod” Horo will all be looking for new challenges.

A statement from TSM read: “Today we’ve agreed to mutually part ways with our original PUBGM roster, who’ve decided to pursue a new challenge. We’ll forever be grateful for what we achieved together. Good luck with your next team 👊 We truly believe in the future of esports in India and we are here to stay. The support since we’ve arrived has been incredible and we’re excited for our future.”

What the future holds for TSM in India

The North American org signed a Free Fire lineup earlier in the month, while it would come as no surprise should another PUBG Mobile team come on board. TSM first entered the Indian Esports scene in March last year, when they acquired a PUBG Mobile roster alongside local org Entity Gaming. However, that arrangement is now seemingly up in the air, with no announcements having been made in this area.

TSM’s PUBG Mobile roster was arguably the most high profile in the region, with the team having finished as runners up at the Spring Split of the South Asian Pro League last year. TSM also won the Indian Series, however their roster had been inactive following the game’s banning in September.

Why PUBG Mobile is not dead in Indi

With Battlegrounds Mobile India having been created by Krafton, the India Series 2021 will be worth $134,000 in prize money. With open qualifiers, a main event and grand finals determining the winner, it would come as no surprise should TSM look to form a new lineup. The grand finals take place between October 7-10, meaning that the org has little time to do so.
