The NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles have agreed a multi-year partnership with the gambling company, Esports Entertainment Group (EEG). The EEG will act as the official Esports provider for the team, who will in turn become a shareholder of the gambling firm. The deal means that the EEG has become the first Esports tournament provider for an NFL team.

Bi-annual Madden NFL Esports events will be hosted by the EEG, utilizing the Esports Gaming League in the process, which the company first set its eyes on acquiring back in August. Meanwhile, the Esports Entertainment Group will also help the Eagles in creating advertisement tools across a host of digital channels.

What the EEG Has Had to Say on the Announcement

Speaking on the announcement, Esports Entertainment Group CEO, Grant Johnson, said that: “We are thrilled to partner with the Philadelphia Eagles as they introduce their fans to the world of competitive esports gaming. The Eagles join a growing list of high-profile organisations that have chosen Esports Entertainment Group as their esports tournament provider, affording us an incredible opportunity to expand our brand reach within multiple large, dedicated fan bases and setting the stage for significant growth ahead. We intend to build on this momentum.”

The Esports Entertainment Group currently provides fixed-odds betting, as well as fantasy and pools wagering on specific events. It is also the owner of SportNation.bet, a popular online sportsbook. The EEG also organizes both online and live tournaments, with the help of the Esports Gaming League, as well as working on game launches and live broadcasts.

As far as the Eagles are concerned, Senior Vice President of Revenue and Strategy, Catherine Carlson, had the following to say on the partnership: “This innovative partnership with Esports Entertainment Group presents a wonderful opportunity for us to expand our reach in a growing market and create new experiences for Eagles fans.”

“Esports Entertainment Group has always been a progressive leader in the esports space and has been ahead of the curve in terms of how its interactive platform brings together gaming enthusiasts from all around the world. We look forward to debuting a number of exciting projects through this partnership, including the launch of the highly anticipated Madden tournament series on the Esports Gaming League platform.”

Why 2020 Has Been a Big Year for the EEG

The EEG has now partnered with its first NFL, MLS and NHL teams this year, while they have also added staff, completed several purchases and obtained rights to the Dignitas Counter Strike: Global Offensive team.
