If rumors are to be believed, Luka “Perkz” Perkovic is set to leave G2 Esports in 2021, with the Croatian player already looking for a new team. Perkz knows nothing other than G2, having been with the team since 2015. The 22-year-old is the European teams’ prized asset, having played a major role in their success over recent years.

Perkz is undoubtedly one of the best mid laners in history, and while many give the No.1 spot to Rasmus “Caps” Winther, the Croat’s consistency would be a major loss for G2. Perkz has also developed a reputation for saving his best form for the big occasion, with his performing against Royal Never Give Up back in 2018 being a standout moment.

Which Teams Would Be Interested in Signing Perkz?

Many are now eagerly anticipating his next move, with Perkz understood to be eyeing a team who has the ability to compete at the World Championship. G2 have tried and failed to do so on two separate occasions, while the fact that Perkz has been asked to play AD carries also likely to be in this thinking surrounding a potential move.

G2 have arguably the best and second best mid laner in the history of the Western League of Legends scene, meaning that they would perhaps begrudgingly accept Perkz’s wishes to find a new challenge. There is no indication as to exactly which team Perkz would join, however a host of top tier organizations would likely be interested in acquiring his services, perhaps most of all Fnatic. With the mid lane spot having opened up with the North American team, the arrival of Perkz would make sense for both parties.

When Can We Expect Updates on the Future of Perkz?

At this point, the details above remain unverified, meaning that we will most likely have to wait until at least mid-November for any updates on the future of Perkz. It is unlikely that G2 Esports will have their say on the matter until then either. However, this is unlikely to stop Esports fans having their say, with many already being excited about the prospect of Perkz lining up in the colors of a different team.
