Participating Teams for Inaugural VIE.gg CS:GO Legend Series Event Announced

Allied Esports and Esports Entertainment Group have today announced the teams who will take part in the inaugural VIE.gg Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Legend Series Tournament, which will begin at the end of August. The two organisations had previously announced that the event would offer betting opportunities on the newly launched VIE.gg site for the first time.

The new competition will feature 16 teams, coming from Europe, South America and the Commonwealth of Independent States. A prize pool of almost $60,000 is up for grabs in total, with the best five CS:GO teams from Belarus, Bulgaria, Norway and Ukraine set to take part, along with seven teams from the world’s top 50 and two others, which are unknown as of yet.

What Will the Format of the Tournament Be?

The VIE.gg CS:GO Legend Series will see teams involved in a group stage, with four groups or four teams in total, before the top two teams from each advance to the Playoffs. The opening four first round Playoff encounters will be best of three, while both the semi-finals and final will be best of five.

Prize money will be awarded for each win throughout the tournament, coming in the shape of $500, while those finishing top of their respective group will earn themselves $1,500. The ultimate winner of the tournament will win $15,000, with the runner up collecting $7,000 for their efforts. On top of this, $3,000 will go to the third and fourth place finishers, while teams reaching the Playoffs will earn $1,500 too.

Who are Allied Esports?

The Allied Esports produced event take place at the HyperX Esports Studio in Hambury, Germany, with the entire competition being streamed on their official Twitch channel. Having been founded in 2017, Allied Esports will host their sixth version of the CS:GO Legend Series, however it is the first to feature a licensing partner and title sponsor, with previous editions having included League of Legends, FIFA, Overwatch and Valorant.
