In what will come as surprise news to many, Pedro “Hydration” Goes Telles has left the Houston Outlaws, with the veteran flex DPS having been with the organization since October 2019. The Brazilian/American has played in a variety of positions for the Outlaws, however the 23-year-old will now become a free agent following his departure from the green team.

Hydration’s Overwatch League career began with the Los Angeles Gladiators in 2017, quickly gaining a reputation for his aerial destruction skills on Pharah. He then made the switch to the Houston Outlaws during the 2019 offseason, with the Texas organization having been searching for greater flexibility on their roster.

Why Hydration departed Houston

During what was an inconsistent season for the Outlaws, Hydration was asked to play in multiple positions. He featured at main tank in most matches, however he did feature at flex DPS for one game in the 2021 season. Houston broke the news of Hydration’s departure on Twitter, stating that:

“As we move into the 2nd half of our season, the Outlaws would like to thank @Hydration for his contributions over the past two years. We wish you the best as you seek your next new challenge. Once an Outlaw—Always an Outlaw.”

Many fans were shocked by the news, talking up Hydration’s skills in the process. While no specific reason for the departure was given, it is likely that Houston will be looking for a different type of player to replace him. The org has a host of options in the flex DPS role, which comes as good news given the potential metas that will arise during the second half of the Overwatch League season.

Who will complete the Houston Outlaws roster now?

Dante “Danteh” Cruz will remain a key part of the team, while player/coach Jake Lyon has stood in at support and flex DPS in the past. Houston can now also call upon the services of former Los Angeles Valiant pro Kyle “KSF” Fransanisa. It will be interesting to see how the Outlaws line up when they return to action, with their next game having been scheduled against the San Francisco Shock on July 3.
