Guangzhou Charge cancels Countdown Cup. The Guangzhou Charge have officially canceled the upcoming homestand matches which are part of the Countdown Cup. It should have taken place from 7th- 8th August 2021and the preparations for this event have been running since over one year.

Another decision due to Covid-19

This decision was made because lately there have been more and more Corona cases in the Guangdong province in China and that’s why they decided to cancel it, because they don’t want to put anyone at unnecessary risk. They are going to cooperate with the local epidemic prevention and control work in order to keep any new corona infections at bay.

Because of this cancelation, Guangzhou Charge, Los Angeles Valiant, Hangzhou Spark and Chengdu Hunters are not going to play the matches that were initially planned. There are also no plans that they are going to be rescheduled.

The league is trying to host a different live event during the Countdown Cup dates, but no details are available so far.
