Damon “Karma” Barlow will return to Optic Gaming as both a content creator and analyst, with the 3x Call of Duty World Champion having played under the banner of the organization between 2014 and 2019. The news was annonced during OpTic’s Atlanta Home Series pre-show this week, with fans already eagerly anticipating what the Canadian will bring upon his return.

Speaking on the return of a former favorite, OpTic Gaming owner Hector “H3CZ” Rodriguez stated that “It’s been a long time coming, we could have made this announcement months ago.” Rodriguez only reacquired the org from Immortals at the end of last year, however he is seemingly keen on making a major impact, with Karma having spent some six years of his pro career with OpTic.

What Role Karma Will Take On for OpTic Gaming

While Karma’s main role will be as a content creator and streamer, OpTic will also utilize his vast experience in helping its current CoD roster for the 2021 season. Karma retired from competing in 2020 following a brief spell with the Seattle Surge, where the deal never really worked out for either party.

Barlow has been playing a host of other Esports titles since his retirement, with his recent streams having included Escape from Tarkov, Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. Karma will continue to create content for his personal Twitch channel, while also featuring on OpTic’s YouTube videos. The 26-year-old is closing in on 400,000 subscribers on Twitch, a figure he should reach quickly following the latest news, while OpTic Gaming has 1.42 million subscribers on YouTube at present.”

Will Karma Have an Immediate Impact Upon His Return to OpTic?

Many followers would have been following OpTic’s Atlanta FaZe Home Series event pre-show, which featured Rodriguez, coach Troy “Sender” Michaels and Will “BigTymeR” Johnson, a former player for the organization. OpTic Gaming get their Call of Duty League campaign started when they take on the Paris Legion this weekn, with it being interesting to see if Karma has already had an impact on the team.
