ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021 is one of the 2 Dota Pro Circuit Majors of this season. And because there are only two of them, the results have tremendous importance in determining the direct invitees to The International 2021.

ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021 Wild Card Details

The Singapore Major is scheduled to take place between March 27th – April 4th. The tournament will have 3 stages and the Wild Card is the first of them. The matches of this stage start on March 27th and will last just 2 days. Every one of them is Bo2. A total of 6 teams will take part in them and the competitive format is the usual single group round-robin. The top 2 teams advance to the Group Stage. The remaining 4 teams are eliminated.

Wild Card Participants

The teams that will take part in the ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021 Wild Card are the following:

Team Nigma

Nigma finished 3rd in Europe, which is the strongest region by far. Their qualification score was 4 W – 3 L. Given the vast experience that this roster has in competing as a unit, I expect them to advance to the Group Stage. The individuals who make up the team are all TI champions, with one exception: w33. But even he is a two times TI finalist. As for the captain, KuroKy, he’s one of the best in the world at his role and is a three-time TI finalist.

Team Liquid

Team Liquid is the other European that that qualified for this stage. They’re not bad, but I don’t think they can survive a competition in which only 2 out of 6 teams advance to the next stage and at least 3 of those teams are much stronger than them. Liquid’s coach, Blitz, is very knowledgeable and will try to give his squad a chance to qualify. But it won’t be easy. Most likely, the crew will finish the Wild Card of ONE Esports Singapore Major in 3rd or 4th place.

Vici Gaming

This is the team that is most likely to finish 2nd and qualify for the Group Stage. Vici Gaming was the 3rd best competitor in China during the first season of DPC 2021 and had an overall record of 5 W – 2 L, which is quite impressive given the strength of the other competitors.

PSG.LGD

PSG.LGD is another Chinese team with good odds of qualifying. They came very close to missing the tournament completely. What ultimately saved them was a victory against Vici Gaming in the last match of the round-robin and then another victory in the Tiebreakers, against Elephant. As an organization, PSG.LGD finished 3rd at the last two editions of The International and their players are exceptional. So you should definitely not underestimate their capabilities.

T1

T1 finished 3rd in Southeast Asia. Their coach is from South Korea and the roster includes two very strong players: 23savage and Kuku. But it’s still doubtful that this lineup will succeed in defeating the likes of Nigma and Vici Gaming. Most likely, T1 is going to finish 3rd or 4th and miss the qualification.

AS Monaco Gambit

And finally, we have AS Monaco Gambit, a team that finished 3rd in CIS with a record of 4 W – 3 L. Unfortunately for them, their odds of advancing are below 5%. There’s just no way for them to beat so many opponents who are several times stronger. As much as SoNNeikO would want to, his team already failed against the strong teams in his region: Virtus.pro, Na’Vi, and Spirit. So we already know what their limits are. So even though they have a world-class midlaner (Noone), the odds here don’t look good.
