OG Esports has entered into a partnership with BMW, with the European’s becoming the latest organization to do so. The partnership will see OG join a group of teams that are “United in Rivalry”, alongside T1, Fnatic and G2.

The deal was announced on Twitter on Wednesday, with a manga series set for Thursday, which will outline exactly how the partnership will work. With eight episodes in total, a new installment will come out each week. OG is now the sixth organization to team up with German giants BMW, also joining Cloud9 and FunPlus Phoenix.

What the Deal Means for OG

BMW established its “United in Rivalry” campaign in April last year, with many League of Legends competitors having joined. If the other associated teams are anything to go by, the automobile company will feature on OG’s social media and team jerseys.

OG becomes the only team to join the campaign that does not compete in League of Legends. OG is best known for its Dota 2 roster, which has won The International on two occasions. OG is also one of the leading organizations in terms of Esports earnings, having collected some $34.4 million from 109 tournaments to date. This is compared to the $36.5 million won by Team Liquid from almost 2,000 events.

What OG Has Said on the Partnership

Speaking on the deal with BMW, OG Esports CEO, JMR Luna said that: “It’s an honor for us to part of this amazing group of teams. We think that BMW has been doing a great job to craft a real story inside esports, and we are happy we can be part of it. Maybe… in the future… we can also show them how it’s done in League of Legends!”

OG already holds partnerships with Red Bull, SteelSeries, DMScript, Socios, Secretlab and betting company Fun88, with the deal with BMW demonstrating that they continue to be a huge draw for those looking to enter the Esports scene. As well as Dota 2, the European org also operates in CS:GO and the increasingly popular Riot Games first person shooter, VALORANT.
