Reports are emerging this week that the New York Subliners are trying to acquire Daunte “Sib” Gray from the Atlanta FaZe. The current substitute is being lined up to replace Conor “Diamondcon” Johst in their starting lineup. Sib has made a name for himself as one of the best Challengers players around, with it now appearing to be just a matter of time before he makes the step up to the highest level in Call of Duty.

How the Subliners Roster Would Look With Sib On Board

A host of teams are looking to make changes ahead of the 2021 CoD League Season Stage 3, including the Subliners, Legion and Mutineers. Should the expected deal for Sib go through, the Subliners roster would be made up by James “Clayster” Eubanks, Obaid “Asim” Asim, Pace “HyDra” Rusiewiez and Sib. Such changes sould see DiamondCon and Makenzie “Mack” Kelley benched.

Sib won the Challengers Elite Playoffs with Fantastic Four this season, picking up a share of the $20,000 in prize money in the process. Meanwhile, the team also finished 1st in the ninth Challengers Cup, before finishing 2nd in the 10th Challengers Cup. Fantastic Four were also runners up in Challengers Elite Stage Two.

Why the Subliners Are Looking to Make Changes

The American teenager is Atlanta’s sole substitute at present, while he would become the seventh new arrival at the Subliners this season alone. The team signed Thomas “ZooMaa” Paparatto, who was forced to retire back in January due to a hand injury. Elsewhere, having expected to be part of the Subliners starting lineup, HyDra’s involvement was effected by visa issues. He only arrived in the US in March, immediately joining the team’s Academy team.

The Subliners failed to win a single match at the Stage Two Major, which was especially disappointing, given the fact that they entered the tournament on a four-match winning streak. They had previously recorded a third-place finish at the opening Major of the season back in March. We will keep you updated on any further news regarding the future of Sib.
