Riot Games has just unveiled four brand-new cards from the Monuments of Power set in Legends of Runeterra that’s about to be released! While “four new cards” doesn’t sound all that exciting, make no mistake: these cards carry a ton of potential! They’re also foreshadowing the release of Soraka! We’ll go into detail down below!

Legends of Runeterra — Monuments of Power Cards

Star Spring” is a 2 mana Landmark from Targon. This, basically, guarantees that Soraka will be hitting live servers once this set is released. “Star Spring” has a Round End effect. Once a round concludes, it’ll heal all of your allies for 1 HP. Then, after you’ve healed 22+ damage from allies, you automatically win the game. That wasn’t a typo. You better prepare if “Star Spring” hits the board because it might become a legitimate win condition. Obviously, there are more factors at play than what first meets the eye, but this card will definitely find a place in the meta. Or, conversely, it’ll carve out a place for itself. The end result, however, will remain the same.

Spring Gifts” is a 1 mana Slow spell that’ll fully heal an ally unit. This is downright OP, and the fact that it’ll cost just a single mana crystal means it’ll carry the potential to make or break the game, if used correctly. A must have for any kind of supportive and/or upcoming Soraka deck.

Spring Guardian” is a 3 mana unit with 3 | 3. When summoned, you’ll get a “Spring Gifts” in hand. Overall, a solid way to eke out even more healing, for a fairly negligible cost.

Divergent Paths” is where things get a whole lot more interesting. It’s a 3 mana Fast spell that can either Draw a landmark or destroy a landmark. That’s pretty much it. Its effect is by no means complex, but seeing how landmarks are bound to play a big role in the upcoming meta, having a quick way or removing (or drawing) them will be hugely important. Maybe even game-defining.

Closing Remarks

Overall, these new cards carry quite a lot of potential. They’ve basically set the stage for Soraka’s release. We don’t know for certain, but if we were to make a well educated stab in the dark, we’d say her reveal is right around the corner! With so much healing, this deck will definitely be a nuisance to play against. Maybe that’s even an understatement.

As always, we’ll bring you more coverage as things hit the web! Finally, if you’re just joining us, make sure to go over previous announcements: Freljord and Targon cards, Tahm Kench, Bilgewater cards, and Landmarks! A lot was announced over the last couple of days, and with Monuments of Power being just a couple of days away from release, you’d be wise to do a bit of reading!
