MTG Arena Early Access Coming to Android on January 28!

MTG Arena fans rejoice — the long-awaited mobile port is on the horizon! In fact, we’re talking mere days! On January 28th, you’ll be able to download MTG Arena and play it on your Android device free of charge. Perhaps best of all, it’ll include the 86th Magic expansion “Kaldheim” along with everything else from the full-fledged game!

The iOS port is also coming although at a later date. The game will be completely cross-platform, meaning you’ll be able to log in with your existing MTGA account and enjoy your (hopefully vast) card collection.

We’ll get a lot more information in the upcoming State of the Game, so stay tuned!

MTG Arena Mobile | Hardware Requirements

MTG Arena is by no means the most graphically intensive game out there, but it does come with lavish animations and a ton of graphical detail. Only certain (relatively strong) devices will be supported during the open beta. As time goes on, Wizards Digital Games Studio will lower the minimum system requirements so that a wider range of devices can run MTGA without a hitch!

Right now, however, your phone will need to have at least 4GB of RAM. This, paired along with a top-notch processor (Kirin 970, Snapdragon 845, or Exynos 9810) will be the bare minimum. Of course you’ll be able to download the game regardless of your configuration and test it out, but don’t expect a flawless experience. Heck, it’s an Early Access release, so it’ll surely have a rocky start.

You can check out a somewhat short list of supported devices by clicking here. These hardware requirements are by no means insignificant, but they’re also pretty fair. Over time, the game will reach a more polished and optimized state — we just need to have a bit of patience!

In any case, we’ll find out more over the coming weeks! As always, we’ll bring you more coverage as news hits the web!
