Moon Studio Mid-Autumn League 2020 has started today and it will last until the end of the month. This tournament brings together a lot of tier 1 teams from Southeast Asia and a lot of tier 2 teams from China. Initially, these teams will compete in separate groups. But the best among them will then take part in a unifying Playoffs Stage. This second stage will feature 12 teams of the initial 19 (9 in SEA, 10 in China).

Moon Studio Mid-Autumn League 2020 Details

Moon Studio Mid-Autumn League 2020 is scheduled to take place between October 1st – 28th. Its prize pool is $55,000 and its number of participants is 19.

In China, the teams you’ll want to keep an eye on are iG Vitaltiy, LBZS, and Team MagMa.

Competitive Format

The competitive format of Moon Studio Mid-Autumn League 2020 is quite simple: Group Stage followed by Playoffs. In the Group Stage, all matches are Bo2 and the regions stay separated. Then the fun begins. The top team from each group advances to Upper Bracket Round 2. The 2nd and 3rd place teams advance to Upper Bracket Round 1. The 4th place teams advance to Lower Bracket Round 2. The 5th and 6th place teams advance to Lower Bracket Round 1.

For the Playoffs Stage, every match is Bo3 with the exception of the Grand Final (Bo5).

Favorites

Based on what we saw at recent events, Team MagMa, LBZS, and Motivate.Trust are the big favorites to win the tournament. It’s not yet clear which of them will win, but one of them should certainly win the title.
