In the latest in a long line of roster changes in the VALORANT scene, Muhammad “Moe40” Hariff has been released by Fnatic. Having originally been moved to the teams’ inactive roster at the beginning of the month, the British teenager has now parted ways on a permanent basis.

Moe40 was benched alongside Kostas “tsack” Theodoropoulos after Fnatic was eliminated from the Challengers One event, with the team having made an overall disappointing start to the 2021 VALORANT Champions Tour. Moe40 was signed by Fnatic in February upon the org entering the VALORANT scene, having made his name with the SUMN FC stack.

What the News Means for Fnatic

Following the release of Moe40, it is only Jake “Boaster” Howlett, Domagoj “Doma” Fancey and James “Mistic” Orfila that remain part of the active Fnatic squad from the original squad. Tsack remains on the transfer list as he looks for a new home. Moe40 will now join tsack in the search for a new team, however he should do so now that he is a free agent.
Posting on his Twitter page, Moe40 stated:

“I have officially parted ways with FNATIC and am officially a free agent,” Moe40 said. “I wish the boys best of luck with their new roster. Was fun whilst it lasted. I’m still looking for something new after this qualifier more motivated than ever as stated before.”

Who Could Fill the Void Left by Moe40 & tsack?

It has recently been speculated that Fnatic are interested in giving CS:GO favorite Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer Gustafsson his first step into VALORANT. The Swedish veteran is believed to have been trialing with the team over recent weeks, however it remains to be seen as to whether he will do enough to earn a place on the Fnatic roster.

With Fnatic due to compete again in the Challenger Two Open Qualifiers, which kick off on April 10, we will not have to wait long until we see which direction the team has gone in. There are currently two open spots, with anticipation mounting to see who fills them.
