Leading Esports organization T1 has announced its new League of Legends Wild Rift team. In doing so, they become the second League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) team to move into the mobile MOBA, following in the footsteps of KT Rolster. An additional announcement surrounding Wild Rift eSports in the region is expected in the coming days.

Breaking the news to their 140,000+ Twitter followers, T1 wrote: “We are happy to announce that we have formed T1’s Wild Rift team. Please show the team your support!”

Who will make up the T1 Wild Rift roster?

The roster features top “JJong”, jungle “JY”, mid “Core”, AD Carry “Haru” and support “PenGuin”. Meanwhile, “Jun” has been announced as the team’s head coach. While the immediate future of Wild Rift in South Korea remains unknown, T1 are pressing ahead with their plans anyway. Other regions have seen their Wild Rift tournaments start already, however, along with North America, South Korea is still waiting for official events.

The T1 roster looks more experienced in comparison to KT Rolster, with their lineup being comprised of Jeong “Ratel” Yun-ho (top), Do Jin-ho (jungle), Kim “Issac” Eun-su (mid), Han “NomeL” Sung-gun (ADC), and Lee “Salem” Sung-jin (support).

T1 is the most recognized eSports organization in the region, having won the League of Legends World Championships on three occasions. The team also competes in Fortnite, Hearthstone, Dota 2, VALORANT, Overwatch, Super Smash Bros, Apex Legends and PUBG, financed in part through major sponsorship deals with the likes of Nike, BMW, Twitch and Red Bull.

Why T1 Has Experience in the Mobile Gaming Scene

The organization does have experience of mobile gaming, having entered the PUBG scene last year. However, following the acquisition of the Xenom roster, things have gone very quiet, with it now being understood that the team has disbanded, bringing an end to a disappointing run of results. T1 will undoubtedly be hoping that their venture into Wild Rift turns out better. We will bring further updates on the South Korean Wild scene as they are announced. Many fans of the game are waiting patiently to see what is to come.
