Oskar “Selfmade” Boderek has signed a new deal with Team Vitality, which will see the jungler remain with the organization through 2022. The former Fnatic pro joined Vitality in May this year, having achieved a good level of success in the second half of the 2021 season.

It comes as no surprise that the 21-year-old has decided to stick around, with expectations being high ahead of upcoming tournaments. While Vitality are not one of the leading names in the European League of Legends scene, having finished 6th at the LEC 2021 Summer Playoffs, Selfmade’s extension is a good sign of their progress. Unfortunately for Team Vitality fans, they have gained a reputation of imploding when push comes to shove.

Selfmade’s stats demonstrate his importance to Team Vitality

The Polish jungler Selfmade has been one of Team Vitality’s leading performers since joining the organization. The Pole has a 3.3 KDA, 72.3% Kill Participation, 28.1% Kill Share, 44% First Blood Rate and Top 2 statistics when it comes to both Damage Per Minute and Damage Share. Such figures are impressive, with the former MAD Lions and SK Gaming youngster also leading the way in his position when it came to Gold, Creep Score and Experience after 10 minutes.

Why Selfmade didn’t move to another org

Given such stats, Selfmade would have been of interest to many other organizations, with many fans having wondered how he would fare on a more competitive roster. However, with most other teams having a jungler similar to Selfmade’s level, it comes as no surprise that a move elsewhere failed to materlialize. On top of this, a switch to the LCS across the pond was also difficult, given restrictions caused by the pandemic. Anyways, the extension of his contract was planned since his arrival at Team Vitality.

Selfmade joined Team Vitality at the same time as SLT, LIDER and strategic coach “Realistik”, with May having been a busy time for the organization. It was announced at this time that “Tasz” and “R4VEN” had joined from the academy roster, with former head coach “Duke” having departed all together.

It remains to be seen as to whether Team Vitality will make roster changes ahead of the 2022 season. Their current lineup is made up by top laner Enzo “SLT” Gonzalez, Mathias “Szygenda” Jensen, Adam “Ilyasov, Aljoša “Milica” Kovandžić, Labros “Labrov” Papoutsakis and Juš “Crownshot” Marušič. Meanwhile, Markos “Comp” Stamkopoulos is currently a substitute for the team. With Selfmade staying another year, things are not looking too bad for Team Vitality.
