Criticism from the community for CLG’s behind-the-scenes video. CLG has published a video that shows a look behind the scenes and has received a lot of criticism for it. It is a private meeting of the team’s general manager Daniel “Tafokints” Lee with the players.

The video shows him telling the group that there will be significant lineup changes soon. “I’m thinking about changes in the lineup,” Tafokints told the team. “It’s been two months and we’re not making much progress. Very likely there will be changes this week. It could be the last time we play together as five.”

Why would CLG need to changes things up?

The changes are being considered because of the disappointing Week 6 in the League of Legends Champions Series. CLG defeated TSM, but lost to FlyQuest and Dignitas. CLG is currently tied with Golden Guardians for 10th place with a record of 10-26, and the team has the worst record in the entire league at 5-13 in the summer split. Tafokints also says of the team, “I know every one of you guys have worked really hard and it’s hard for me, I love every one of you,” “You’re all like my brothers. I just want to give you guys as much respect as I can, but I understand that it’s just not working for the team.”

The immediate public reaction to the video was negative, with many people saying that this should not have been shown. Several big names in the esports industry, such as LCS analyst Crumbz and G2 Esports’ head coach Grabbz responded by saying that this content went too far and should have never been posted. A video showing the emotional reactions of young players who could soon be fired should not have been shown to the world.

CLG took the video down

Just an hour later, CLG took down the video and posted an apology. “This morning we released a short video after the game that gives a behind-the-scenes look at our current season. Our goal was to share an authentic moment with our fans and be as transparent as possible in regards to potential changes that could occur this week.

We now see that it sheds negative light on our players, and for that we apologize. We have taken the video down,” the statement reads.
