Alphari Returns to Team Liquid and defeats Dignitas. Top laner Barney “Alphari” Morris finally returns to Team Liquid’s LCS main lineup in week six of the season. He had been training with the rest of his teammates for the past few weeks after taking a month-long sabbatical.

Alphari was benched after the first game of the season and speculation ran wild because Liquid did not provide an explanation. Eventually, the team explained that the 21-year-old had been going through “major health and family issues” and said he was having trouble with his motivation because of it.

Alphari was allowed to take time off

Immediately after Alphari went on sabbatical, there were other changes to the lineup. The team announced the retirement of both head coach Joshua “Jatt” Leesman and veteran jungler Lucas “Santorini” Tao Kilmer Larsen, who took a leave of absence due to ongoing health issues. Santorini was replaced by Academy jungler Jonathan “Armao” Armao.

And indeed, Alphari came back to Liquid with a bang, because with him back in the team they managed to defeat Dignitas right away. In the early stages of the game on the LCS Stage, Dignitas was able to semi-control the
game but Liquid was able to find different ways to keep the gold lead close and Alphari dominated the laning phase with his gangplank.

Liquid was a lot more coordinated than Dignitas throughout the game and was able to win the match. Alphari was named player of the match. He made three kills, eight assists and was able to do over a third of the total damage for his team.
