Leaf Set to Join Cloud9 Blue’s Valorant Roster

After missing out on a place at the First Strike Finals, Cloud9 Blue are expected to make changes to its roster, with the arrival of Nathan “Leaf” orf potentially being the first one. Cloud9 blue finished in 5th-8th plae at both the UMG and NSG tournament, with only the top eight North American teams having qualified for the chance to claim their proportion of the $100,000 prize pool.

Why Cloud9 Blue Are Looking to Make Changes

VALORANT tournaments kicked off in May this year, with Cloud9 Blue having dominated the lower-tier scene in North America since. Until their rivals started making roster changes, Cloud9 Blue was considered to be one of the leading teams in the region.
However, the likes of TSM, Sentinels and Team Envy have quickly made their mark too, meaning that Cloud9 Blue has been forced to react, especially following three 3rd place finishes on the bounce. The team then failed to deliver at the two First Strike qualifying events, which came as a major disappointment.

Cloud9 Blue did overcome 100 Thieves however, who went on to win the First Strike title following victories over Sentinels, T1 and TSM. Despite this victory, it is expected that several roster changes will be made ahead of the next batch of tournaments. Team Captain Josh “Shinobi” Abastado has been scrimmaging for FaZe Clan of late, with this move seemingly being on the cards.

How the News Surrounding Leaf’s Arrival Broke

Meanwhile, it was Cloud9 content creator Mitch “mitch” Semago who all-but confirmed the news of Leaf’s arrival, mistakenly sharing a screen with his name listed under the player tab during a stream earlier this week. Leaf has been playing for Chaos Esports Club in CS:GO of late, however the 17-year-old is looking for a move into VALORANT.
The current Cloud9 Blue VALORANT roster is made up by Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, Skyler “Relyks” Weaver, Daniel “vice” Kim, Shinobi, mitch and Head Coach James “JamezIRL” Macaulay.
