Despite having a 12-9 regular season record in the Call of Duty League, the LA Thieves have announced that Cuyler “Huke” Garland will replace Thomas “TJHaLy” Haly on their roster. With TJHaLy having moved to the bench, former Dallas Empire favourite Huke is an outstanding replacement.

Huke was himself substituted by Dallas in April, having been replaced by “FeLo” after being accused of standing in the way of the Empire’s progression as a team. Regarded as one of the best players in the league by many, it is good news that Huke has now found a new home.

Announcing the news via Twitter, the Dallas Empire posted the following message: Welcome the Multi-FPS Champion Cuyler “@Huke The Nuke” Garland to the Los Angeles Thieves. #LAThieves”

What the Move Means for TJHaLy

However, his arrival comes at the expense of TJHaLy, who is too good of a player to be on the sidelines. As one of the founding members of the LA Thieves roster, the American competed for OpTic Gaming Los Angeles during the first Call of Duty League season in 2020. He has also represented the likes of Elevate, Rise Nation and Team Kaliber during his career.
Speaking on his benching, TJHaLy was philosophical in stating: “I’ve been benched by Thieves. GL to them. Looking forward to the future.”
h2>Why the LA Thieves Made Such a Change

The LA Thieves have been in good form of late, making up for a slow start to the 2021 season. A win over OpTic Chicago during the Paris Legion Home Series means that they sit with a 3-1 record in Stage Three Group B. Such results follow a roster change involving Temp replacing Venom in March, while Drazah replaced SlasheR in April.

The team is currently six in the CDL standings, just behind the likes of New York Subliners and OpTic Chicago. They will be hoping to turn their mid-table position into a challenging one, with just 20 points separating themselves and the Subliners. It is expected that Huke will now make his debut for the Dallas Empire on Saturday, May 8, when they take on the New York Subliners.
