How to Use the New Tents in Fortnite Chapter 3

As the third chapter of Epic Game’s popular battle royale game kicks off, lots of new exciting items have been added to the game, and one of them is the new tents. In this article, we will give a brief guide on how to use tents in Fortnite Chapter 3.

With the introduction of the third chapter of Fortnite, Epic Games has fortified the game with a new assorted array of items, contents and characters for players to discover and explore. One of such items comes in the form of a Tent. This tent has lots of functions, many of which have not yet been clarified for the players.

How to Use Tents in Fortnite

A few days ago, Fortnite wrapped up the Chapter 2 of its battle royale series, with a historic finale event tagged “The End.” During the event, fans and players watched in awe, as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who turned out to be the much-touted Foundation, made a grand return into the game. At the end of the event which was characterized by a sequence of dramatic tussles, the entire Fortnite island flipped over to reveal a new map on which the adventures of chapter 3 will play off.

Unlike other items introduced in Fortnite Chapter 3, which are quite easy and straightforward to understand, Tents come with some tricky twists that require some mastery before you can use them optimally. To get a Tent, you have to either find them as an equippable item or pick up any of the ones you see isolated in different locations across the island. Once you grab a Tent, you have to set it down, assemble it and it’ll be ready for use.

Tents serve two purposes

Firstly, you can use it as a resting place, or better a place to restore health when the enemy hits you badly. Secondly, Tents by default has two item storage slots, so you can use them to store some of your items. You can also use a few Gold Bars to acquire a third item slot to store more items in your Tent.

With its item storage and healing features, the Tent has now positioned itself as an indispensable item that every player may want to have in their repository. They’re also quite easy to get when you’re playing in groups of two, three or a full squad. As long as one person on the team owns a Tent, the only thing the other teammates need to do to purchase their own, is to interact with the existing Tent.

In cases when players need to drop their tent and proceed with the battle, they can still access their stored items by picking up any other tent they come across on the island. Furthermore, the storage benefits of the Tents do not end in just one match. You can carry the items over to future matches by simply claiming another Tent. This way, your stash is still secure, thus putting you in the right position to get a Victory Crown

Apart from these historic game-changing Tents, Fortnite Chapter 3 also debuts a new sliding mechanic that players can activate by holding down the crouch button when running. The slide mechanic is ideal for swiftly going down a slope, and it also allows players to fire their weapons while sliding downhill.
