Being a shooter game, the most important things in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive are the aiming and crosshair placement. With no doubt, most of the professional players in esports are used to training a lot of hours daily. In the following article, I am going to explain how to properly train and become the best player of the match.

Crosshair Placement: Spraying/ One-Tapping

Crosshair placement is one of the most important things that we should consider training before playing any match. You should always aim for the head as it’s the body part that grants the most damage. “Spraying” or “one tapping” are also two big factors that will help you kill the enemy in the fastest way possible without a single problem. Spraying is when you hold the right-click button and drag the mouse down, trying to combat the recoil, so the bullets hit the enemy. Not all of the weapons available in CS: GO can be used to spray, as they have to be automatic or semi-automatic. For example, M4A1-S, MP-9, and AK-47. One tapping, as the name suggests, is when you try to tap with your weapon on the most damage-taking body part, sometimes resulting in an easy kill.

The recoil

One of the biggest factors in CS: GO is the recoil. You should always try to stay as still as possible when aiming. When you and the enemy are moving, the recoil is going to be your biggest issue that you want to train and fight against. The best way of combating recoil is by only using the keys “A, D” that represent moving left or right because the accuracy is higher than moving forward or backward. The “Shift” key is also recommended to use, because it makes the character move slower and without any audible footsteps. This also improves bullet accuracy.

Gun Selection

All the guns have different spray patterns, damage, and most important: range. The range is one important thing we want to consider before buying any gun. The buy menu is sectioned in different categories: Pistols, Heavy, SMGs, Rifles, Gear, and Grenades. Depending on the side that you’re playing on the map, you should consider the following:

The rifles are almost anytime one of the best decisions you’re going to make. They are the best for short-range, middle-range, and long-range shots.

Next, for short-range I recommend buying any of the SMGs or heavy weapons, depending on your money, following with armor and nades.

Gear and in-game settings

You should always play on the best resolution possible, but sometimes players like to play stretched, on a 4:3 aspect ratio, as it makes the players look wider. Gear is one of the most important factors, because a mouse with a bad sensor may make your crosshair randomly jump from one spot or another. From my perspective, mouse acceleration should be always turned off, as it decreases accuracy.
