After competing in the Contenders scene for a few months, Sanglok “Dreamer” Song has returned to the Overwatch League, having joined the Houson Outlaws. The former Valiant pro first joined the Overwatch League in 2019, before being released back in January. The 21-year-old played under the banner of SEUNG, before moving to DarkMode NA.

Having helped DarkMode NA to a fifth place finish at both the Mayhem Spring Classic 2021 and Contenders 2021 March, it comes as no surprise that an Overwatch League team has brought Dreamer back to the big time. The DarkMode NA team was made up by Dreamer, Adam Soong and a collection of other pros.

Why Dreamer Signed for the Houston Outlaws

With Derek “Aurus” Peters and Owen “provide” Warner having left DarkMode NA due to personal reasons, Dreamer’s arrival at Houston was confirmed just a day later. The 21-year-old will now be used in rotation for the tank position, alongside former Talon Esports players Min-jun “PIGGY” Shin and Myung-heum “JJANGGU” Cho.

The remainder of the Houston Outlaws is made up by DPS Dante “Danteh” Cruz, Support Joao Pedro “Hydration” Goes Telles, DPS Jungwoo “Happy” Lee, DPS Kyle “KSF” Frandanisa, Support Enrique “Joobi” Triana and Tank Jacob “JAKE” Lyon.

Why Houston Needed Roster Changes

The Houston Outlaws roster suddenly looks significantly more flexible, with their lineup having the ability to play specific heroes as and when is necessary. Houston ended the 2021 May Melee in joint-fifth position. Meanwhile, the team is currently in third place in the West region regular season standings, thanks to a 4-0 record.

Announcing the arrival of Dreamer on Twitter, the Houston Outlaws posted: “He’s taken flight back to the Overwatch League and landed in Houston to make his dream come true. Welcome the newest member of the Houston Outlaws, @IMDREAMERGG. #AnteUp”
Dreamer responded to this post by stating: “Hi its Dreamer I’m really happy to back on OWL and play with stacked team Thank you for give me opportunity I will do my best!!!”
