Hearthstone Scholomance Academy Masquerade Ball event is finally here! Hearthstone might not be as big as it once was, but it’s still insanely popular and has a dedicated playerbase. It’s a flawed CCG, but it’s still as fun as ever, especially if you’re a laid back casual player.

So what’s new this time around? Starting today, you’ll be able to “recruit and wield the awesome power of Elementals” in Battlegrounds! This new minion type is comprised of 16 new minions and four distinct new heroes (Chenvaala, Rakanishu, Al’Akir the Windlord, and Ragnaros the Firelord). As for Battlegrounds, everyone’s ratings will be reset and we’ll have to start over with a brand-new progression system. You can read more about the ratings system update by going to official Hearthstone website.

Blizzard wants to celebrate the return of the Dual-Class Arena, so they’re giving everyone a free Arena ticket. During the event, you’ll first choose a hero before picking a Hero Power from a different class. You’ll then get to pick cards from both classes (instead of just one), and round out your deck with neutral cards.

This will allow players to mix and match to their heart’s content! The Rise of the Zombeasts Tavern Brawl is also making a return!

Upcoming Event Updates

On October 7th, players will be able to engage in the Masquerade Ball Tavern Brawl. What’s different about it? Well, in short, whenever you play a minion, it’ll automatically transform into another minion that costs 2 more mana. Once that unit dies, the original minion (the one you first summoned) will return to the field and re-join the fight.

On October 13th, players will be able to experience Rexxar’s story in Hearthstone Book of Heroes, which is a brand-new solo experience. If you defeat all eight bosses in this linear challenge you’ll unlock a Hunter pack for your efforts!

October 14th will mark the release of the Boss Battle Royale 3 Tavern Brawl in which you’ll be able to “dress up as big bad bosses” from past events. You’ll be able to pick one of the following: Dr. Boom, Mother Sharaz, White King, Cenarius, Baduu Prime, Kriziki the Winged, Lich Baz’hial, Rotwing, Hagatha the Vengeful, and last but certainly not least Illidan Stormrage.

Right now, however, you can compete in a chain of Legendary Quests to earn a total of nine card packs (across the event’s duration). Quests will be released in three waves: September 29th (this one is live), October 6th, and October 13th.

Closing Remarks

This is quite an exciting time if you’re a fan of Hearthstone. October will give us a ton of new content and most of it is looking mighty alluring! Finally, you might want to take a look at the 18.4 patch notes. It’s not a negligible slew of changes by any means, and knowing what was changed and how will improve your odds of finding success!
