After their first victory in the new EPL season, GODSENT were now able to bring home the trophy of LOOT.BET Season 7 as well. Kevin “kRYSTAL” Amend and his boys were already qualified for the playoffs and fought all the way to the Grand Finals. There, they were victorious over Gambit Youngsters and secured $25.000 in prize money.

The rise of GODSENT has been an arduous process. Under the moniker “NoChance”, they had competed without any financial support, until SMASH Esports took notice. Unfortunately, their partnership only lasted for two months before the players were back without a home again. Various top players had competed with them during those times, but most took their leave due to the financial situation. But kRYSTAL never stopped believing in this project and has now grown it into a top international team over the years. They caught the eye of the GODSENT management and finally, they were offered professional support. Their last offline victory was at WePlay! Forge of Masters in November of 2019. With LOOT.BET, they have only secured an online victory, but the teams certainly gave them a hard time for it.

THE LOOT.BET PLAYOFFS

As a playoffs team, they didn’t have to go all the way through the Group Stage. Instead, they entered in the Quarter Finals and went up against HAVU. The Finns were a surprisingly difficult challenge for kRYSTAL and his roster. While they did win the first map with a 16-12, HAVU struck back with an insanely close 16-14. On Overpass, GODSENT managed to post a great CT side, despite their weak first half, winning on a 16-14 scoreline for the match victory.

Facing AGF Esport next, they had a much better time. With 16-8 and 16-7 there was no doubt that they were just the better team. For Jesse “zehN” Linjala and Asger “farlig” Jensen, they kills pretty much all racked up by themselves as both nearly cracked the 40 bomb.

In the Grand Finals, things were different, though. In Gambit Youngsters, they finally had an opponent of a different caliber. The CIS team had previously booted MIBR from the virtual stage and kicked Virtus.Pro out as well. They immediately got into the match with a 10-5 halftime on Overpass. Their lead was decimated, however, as kRYSTAL led his team through a successful CT side. With a 15-15 tie, the teams entered overtime, in which GODSENT finally managed to come out on top. On the second map, Gambit Youngsters were out of steam. Pavle “maden” Bošković almost locked in a 30 bomb as GODSENT raced away with a 16-11 win on Train, securing the trophy and a nice $25.000 check.

For GODSENT, the work has only just begun, as they’re continuing to compete in ESL Pro League Group A. There, they currently sit in second-to-last place following losses to Natus Vincere, G2 Esports, and OG. However, they have gotten a win in the bag over ENCE and with their victory at LOOT.BET, the players will certainly have regained some confidence.
