In a bid to promote the upcoming film, Ghostbuster: Afterlife, Epic Games has incorporated a new Ghostbuster NPC into the Fortnite Season 8 map. This cross-promotional collaboration between Epic Games and Ghostbuster is just like the ones they have with DC, Disney and Marvel. This time around, players stand a chance of winning massive amounts of XP to boost their chances of becoming formidable as they prepare for Battle Pass.

On this new quest, a non-playable character (NPC) called the Containment Specialist has been fixed into the map. The Containment Specialist will serve as the custodian of the Ghostbusters: Afterlife questline. At the end, players who can successfully scale through all five quests will receive a whopping 150,000 XP from the Contentment Specialist.

This is an exciting opportunity for players to level up in Fortnite season 8 and stand a great chance of being a great force to reckon with at Battle Royale.

The Ghostbuster tasks you have to complete include:

  • Deploy Seismographs in Catty Corner or Misty Meadows to win 30,000 XP.
  • Use your pickaxe to destroy mini-pufts in Lazy Lake, Retail Row or Sludgy Swamp to get 30,000 XP.
  • To win another 30,000, you have to destroy cars and retrieve their mechanical parts.
  • Place Ghostbuster signs in Pleasant Park, Dirty Docks or Holy Hedges
  •  Deploy a ghost trap to win another 30,000 XP

Before you start playing these ghostbuster quests, you have to complete or clear out the quests you’re currently embarking on. After you have done that, the first step of winning these ghostbuster rewards is to find the Containment Specialist. One would expect that finding this NPS would be a difficult task, but on the contrary, you can find him walking around in Misty Meadows, especially around the Southeastern plane.

An individual player can only participate in five Character Quests at a time. You can also invite your friends to join you in the game to increase your chances of executing the tasks within a short time. Also, this Ghostbuster Quest will only be available for a limited time. It is expected to end by the end of the month, so you must hurry up and complete your tasks as soon as you can.

Location of Ghostbusters in Fortnite Season 8

The best way to get started in the Ghostbuster Quests is to land in one of those unnamed locations on the map that aren’t clustered. Landing in these quiet zones will make it easier for you to see the Containment Specialist on time. As soon as you see him, you will discuss with him, and he’ll assign you the first assignment to begin your quest.

First, he will ask you to deploy seismographs in Catty Corner or Misty Meadows. You will see a blue icon in both of these locations where you’re supposed to place the seismographs.

Pro Tip: Misty Meadows is the easiest place to deploy the whole three seismographs at the same time.

When you complete this task, you will automatically receive the next assignment on your quest list, which is to use your pickaxe to destroy mini-pufts.

Pro Tip: This task is very easy, and you can destroy all three mini pufts at the same time. Look out for the pool at the back of a house in the southeast of Lazy Lake. You will find three mini pufts there. Quickly swing your pickaxe over them, and you should be able to kill them all.

The next task would be to destroy cars and retrieve their mechanical parts.

Pro Tip: Corny Crops is the easiest place to complete this task, since there’s a truck and two cars lying around at the center of the area. Just destroy any of them and get this task over and done with.

Next, you have to place ghostbuster signs in either Dirty Docks, Pleasant Parks or Holly Hedges.

No Brainer Tip: You can place all three in the same place by locating the blue outlines around the area.

For the next task, which is to deploy ghost traps on specified locations, look out for blue outlines just like you did on the previous task. Interacting with the ghost traps automatically earns you the No Ghost backbling!

A while ago, the Ghostbuster crossover had leaked before the Fortnitmares event, so some players have been earnestly waiting for this opportunity. However, if you’re one of those who weren’t aware of this, now you have all the information you need. Rush now and complete the tasks and level up your XP before Epic removes the Containment Specialist.
