The Florida Mutineers have just finalized their line-up for the 2021 season of CDL and, needless to say, it’s quite an interesting one! Colt “Havok” McLendon; Cesar “Skyz” Bueno; and Joseph “Owakening” Conley will all be joined by Josiah “Slacked” Berry, formerly of the Seattle Surge.

Ricky “Atura” Lugo will remain with the team as Head Coach.

The new season is quickly approaching, and Florida has definitely delivered when it comes to assembling a roster worthy of respect. Of course, this is just the start, and success is far from guaranteed. Fortunately, Slacked won’t be a total stranger as he already played with Skyz back on Luminosity in 2019.

A Solid Showing

Florida had quite a fair bit of hype coming into the most recent CDL playoffs. After all, their Top 3 regular season finish was more than enough proof that they had the talent and work ethic to compete at the highest of levels. Unfortunately, they were unable to leave much of a mark. Heck, maybe that’s even an understatement. They were defeated by the Toronto Ultra right at the start of the playoffs, before ultimately succumbing to OpTic Gaming in the losers bracket.

A pretty underwhelming conclusion to an otherwise solid season. Still, it’s hard to hold it against them. The way competitive esports changed over the course of the year took us all by surprise. So, with that in mind, there’s still a question mark looming over the vast majority of CDL teams. This line-up certainly has potential, although how high they’ll be able to soar is up for debate. In any case, it’s definitely packed with power!

These are all familiar faces and they’ve proven their worth on multiple occasions in the past. A shoddy end to the season shouldn’t diminish their valiant efforts up to that point. This 2021 CDL Florida Mutineers line-up is quite respectable, although it’ll definitely face an uphill battle going forward! With 100 Thieves entering the mix and H3CZ reacquiring OpTic, it’s fair to say that the sophomore season of the CDL is bound to deliver in all the right ways!
