Reports have surfaced suggesting that FaZe Clan are in talks to sign Russel “Twistzz” van Dulken to its CS:GO lineup, with the former Team Liquid rifler potentially arriving at the organization as quickly as next week.

The Canadian was only released by Team Liquid at the end of last year, with it appearing that the 21-year-old is to find a new home relatively quickly, if the report from Jarek “DeKay” Lewis is anything to go by. Twistzz has been a mainstay in the North American CS:GO scene over the years, with his most successful period coming with Liquid.

Why Twistzz is a Target for FaZe Clan

Twistzz arrived at Team Liquid in 2017, improving upon his 2018 HLTV no.12 ranking by moving up to no.9 in 2019. It was in 2019 that Twistzz and Liquid won the Intel Grand Slam Season Two, as well as a host of other tournaments. However, 2020 was a disappointment for both parties, with Liquid’s showing at the IEM Global Challenge having resulted in the organization parting company with Twistzz.

It was during their series against Astralis that Twistzz made it clear that he planned to compete for a leading European organization in the future. With FaZe Clan being in the middle of a revamp following the loss of star man Nikola “NiKo” Kovac, the arrival of Twistzz would certainly be a major boost.

Why FaZe are Looking for Reinforcements

The organization also had to deal with the departure of coach Janko “YNk” Puanovic around the same time, with the Serbian having returned to his analyst role. Meanwhile, NiKo joined G2 in one of the biggest moves in the history of CS:GO. FaZe did announce the arrival of stand-in Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer Gustafsson, however it is understood that he will now be signed on a permanent basis.

Should the signing of Twistzz materialize, he would team up alongside Havard “rain” Nygaard, Helvijs “broky” Saukants, Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjaerbye and in-game leader Marcelo “coldzera” David. With the cs_summit due to get underway at the end of the month, it could well that the arrival of Twistzz is announced sooner rather than later.
