FaZe Clan & Manchester City to Host Upcoming Fortnite Event

Leading North American Esports organization FaZe Clan are set to be joined by English soccer club Manchester City when they host a Fortnite tournament. The FaZe City Cup is an event that will involve professional gamers, content creators and footballers.

The collaboration between the two parties came about as a result of Fortnite’s Kickoff Set bundle, which contains 23 different football club kits, including City, Premier League compatriots Wolves and Italian giants Juventus. Some 100 players will make up the tournament in all, with all gaining early access to City’s in-game skin as a result.

Speaking on the announcement, FaZe Clan CEO, Lee Trink, stated that: “The FaZe City Cup featuring Fortnite is an important illustration of our groundbreaking partnership with Manchester City. Alongside Manchester City, we are thrilled to be a part of a competitive tournament in Fortnite. We look forward to building this tournament and producing more entertaining competitions in the future.”

FaZe Clan and Manchester City launched their partnership back in September 2019, with a host of collaborations having taken place since, including events in both Los Angeles and Manchester. Merchandise surrounding the two has also been released, while collaborative content has also been enjoyed by fans.

What City Has Had to Say on the Link Up

Chief Marketing Office at City Football Group, Nuria Tarre, had the following to say on the latest link up between the two parties: “The FaZe City Cup featuring Fortnite is an exciting first for the club in one of the most popular gaming titles globally and we hope fans worldwide will get involved in the competition and wear their Manchester City outfits in-game with pride.

The partnership between FaZe and City is showing no signs of slowing down, with the latter looking to continue its growth within the Esports scene.
