Following a close loss to GODSENT, ENCE have now secured a victory over G2 Esports. While the Frenchmen are still posting shaky results, Heroic are slowly getting back on track. Their 2-1 over BIG gives them their second match victory in EPL. Natus Vincere easily dispatched of AGO and are now tied with ENCE for the first place of Group A.

NAVI 2-0 AGO

With AGO, Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and his Russian buddies have arguably come across one of the easier opponents in this league. At least s1mple made it appear like this, as he secured a 2.08 rating on the first map. With a 16-9, in which he secured an insane 36 kills, Natus Vincere quickly jumped on a lead.

On Nuke, AGO finally showed up. They secured 11 points at halftime with their strong CT-sided performance. However, they failed just shy of the finishing line as NaVi put up a near-perfect defense themselves. In this instance, s1mple “only” secured 29 kills – but he got his team the 16-13 for the match victory nonetheless.

HEROIC 2-0 BIG

With their decisive victory over G2 Esports, the Danes had finally arrived at EPL. Up to that point, they had suffered two narrow defeats. Their match versus BIG got close once more, but this time around they came out on top. The Germans actually kicked the game off with a 16-14 win, led by Florian “syrsoN” Rische. As the teams transitioned over to BIG’s map pick, the outlook for Heroic was grim.

But surprisingly, Heroic were perfectly prepared for Overpass. With a 9-6 lead on their CT side, they had amassed a sizeable buffer of rounds. As it turned out, however, they actually didn’t need that. On their T side, they stormed to a 16-7 victory. The entire team contributed, but René “TeSeS” Madsen shone as the strongest individual performer on the server.

In Nuke, the two teams had opted for a map that Heroic were quite strong on historically. This time was no different, as the Danes soon held a 14-6 lead and were just two rounds away from match victory. Suddenly, BIG started to claw back round after round. Unfortunately, this dominant display came a tiny bit too late. Heroic’s lead proved to be enough to scrape past BIG with a 16-14. Finally, the Danes have a second victory on the board for EPL.

ENCE 2-0 G2

The French teams have certainly not had an easy time during ESL Pro League. After Vitality had suffered a reverse sweep at the hands of Spirit, G2 have now lost points to an arguably weaker team as well. ENCE had just lost to GODSENT the day before – maybe this is why G2 had a false feeling of security going up against them.

On Train, the Finns successfully came back from a 4-11 deficit and made it to overtime. There, they secured the map win on a 19-16 scoreline. This must surely have sent the ENCE fans’ hearts racing. On Dust2, their individual performance proved to be the deciding factor, even though Nemanja “nexa” Isaković was the strongest competitor on the server with 25 kills. Once again, in spite of his great performance, G2 Esports faltered and handed ENCE the 16-10 win.

Tomorrow, Group A will continue with GODSENT vs. OG. Following their dominant display over AGO, Aleksi “Aleksib” Viroulainen and his OG boys will look to secure some quick EPL points against Kevin “kRYSTAL” Amend and his teammates. After that, the Complexity/Fnatic and Astralis/mousesports matchups will round out the day.
