EPIC League Division 1 Week 4 Preview

EPIC League Division 1 is about to enter the last competitive week of the Group Stage. The situation at the top of the standings table is quite clear, but we still need to find out who is going to get eliminated. Only 8 of the 10 participants will advance to the Playoffs and right now, we have 4 competitors struggling to dodge the bullet. Only two of them will succeed.

EPIC League Division 1 Current Results

The first 3 weeks of EPIC League Division 1 featured a lot of great matches. And the teams that dominated the competition are not the ones we were expecting at the start of the race. Alliance, mudgolems, and Liquid did poorly, while Virtus.pro and Vikin.gg did shockingly well.

Keep in mind, VP is playing with its academy roster, which had not competed prior to this event for several months. And Vikin.gg was just a modest tier 1 team a short while ago. What happened to them? How do you go from being number 8 or 10 in your region to being number 1 in just one month? It’s really strange, but it goes to show you just how complex Dota 2 can be.

These are the complete results of the first 3 weeks of EPIC League Division 1:

• 1^st place: Vikin.gg: 6 W – 1 L
• 2^nd place: Virtus.pro: 5 W – 2 L
• 3^rd place: Team Secret: 5 W – 2 L
• 4^th place: Team Nigma: 4 W – 3 L
• 5^th place: OG: 4 W – 4 L
• 6^th place: Natus Vincere: 3 W – 3 L
• 7^th place: Team Liquid: 3 W – 4 L
• 8^th place: mudgolems: 2 W – 5 L
• 9^th place: Just Error: 2 W – 6 L
• 10^th place: Alliance: 2 W – 6 L

So far, it seems that SumaiL’s new team has not been able to find its winning formula. And to be fair, it’s perfectly normal. After all, they’ve only been around for less than a month and they’re competing against the strongest competitors in the world. Given the circumstances, what they’ve achieved so far is quite impressive, even though it’s not nearly good enough to secure a spot for them in the Playoffs. But let’s be optimistic. They still have one match left to play and if they manage to win it, they stand a good chance of avoiding elimination. The only problem is, Alliance and mudgolems are in a similar situation. And in fact, mudgolems has two more matches left to play instead of one. So their chances look much better.

Week 4 Preview

The 4^th competitive week of EPIC League Division 1 will have just 3 competitive days. A total of 9 matches will be played and the big question is the following: who will advance to the Upper Bracket and who will advance to the Lower Bracket? Based on the matchups that are left, I’m confident that Alliance and Just Error will get eliminated. Apart from that, Vikin.gg, Virtus.pro, Team Secret, and Team Nigma should advance to the Upper Bracket, while OG, Na’Vi, Liquid, mudgolems to the Lower Bracket.
